Every nonprofit receives a Campaign Toolkit, including:

  • Ready-to-use email campaigns
  • Social media posts and graphics
  • A unique QR code linking directly to your RoundUp page
  • Additional fundraising and marketing resources

You’ll also receive a personalized Program Dashboard where you can track new donors and your progress toward each $250 Reward Payment.

Once a new donor completes three monthly donation cycles, they become a qualifying donor.

6. Receive $250 for every 10 qualifying donors

For every 10 qualifying new donors, RoundUp makes an additional $250 reward payment to your nonprofit.

  • 10 qualifying donors = $250
  • 20 qualifying donors = $500
  • 30 qualifying donors = $750

What Could 100 Recurring Donors Mean for Your Nonprofit?

More than $30,000 every year.

On average, 100 recurring RoundUp donors generate approximately $30,000 in annual donations for the nonprofit they support.

And those donors can keep giving year after year.

That’s why recurring donors are the most valuable fundraising asset most nonprofits can build — and why RoundUp wants to help you get more of them.

Historically, recurring donors have also been some of the most difficult, and most expensive, donors for nonprofits to acquire.

RoundUp wants to change that.

Monthly Giving Through RoundUp Is Easy for Donors, Too

RoundUp makes recurring giving simple.

A donor connects their Visa or Mastercard, chooses the nonprofit they want to support, and RoundUp automatically rounds up their everyday purchases.

For example, a $4.25 purchase becomes a $0.75 roundup.

Those small roundups accumulate throughout the month and are donated to the nonprofit the donor selected through Our Change Foundation (our donor-advised fund partner).

Instead of having to remember to make another donation, giving simply happens.

Here’s how it works:

Select a nonprofit
Search our database of over one million nonprofit organizations.
A text box with a search term and nonprofit results
Enroll a credit card. Set donation max (optional)
Enroll your primary spending card with a Visa or Mastercard logo. Optionally, set a maximum donation per month.
A web page form to capture payment information
Round ups happen automatically
Every purchase you make will be rounded up to the next dollar at the end of each month. That total amount will be sent to your designated nonprofit.
A web page table with payment history information

Why We’re Doing This

Recurring giving currently accounts for just 3% of charitable giving.

If that share grew to 10%, it would represent more than $40 billion in additional recurring charitable giving every year — more predictable funding nonprofits could use to hire people, expand programs, plan for the future, and pursue their missions.

We believe the future of nonprofit fundraising isn’t asking existing donors to give more.

It’s making giving so effortless that millions more people choose to become recurring supporters.

“We’re not trying to become the biggest donation tool. We’re trying to become the best at helping nonprofits get their donors to give month in and month out.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Recurring Donor Program?

It’s a turnkey way for nonprofits to offer an incentive for their donors to sign up right away. For every 10 donors who start rounding up for your nonprofit during your 45-day signup window, RoundUp will provide an extra $250 reward payment to your nonprofit. Donors must continue to round up for your nonprofit for 3 consecutive months in order to qualify toward the reward payment.

We see tons of nonprofits promoting RoundUp to their donors, and being able to give them an incentive to do it now has proven to be very powerful:

“For every 10 donors that start rounding up for us right now, our nonprofit will receive an extra $250 from RoundUp.org. So, please sign up right away to unlock this extra support for us.”

How do we get started?

There’s nothing extra to enroll in. Your 45-day donor signup window opens when you verify your directory details page in the Admin Portal, and the Recurring Donor Program page shows a live countdown to your closing date. Every donor who chooses your organization, creates a RoundUp account, and enrolls an eligible credit card before the window closes counts as a new donor for the program.

Who counts as a new donor?

Someone who creates a RoundUp.org account, designates your nonprofit as their organization, and enrolls an eligible credit card inside your 45-day window. Donors who joined before the window opened, were initially recruited by another nonprofit, or who sign up after it closes still support you with their round-ups every month, but they don’t count toward your reward.

When does a new donor count toward our reward?

After their third consecutive monthly donation is successfully charged and settled. Donations run on the 1st of each month, so a donor who signs up during your window typically qualifies about three months after it closes. If a donor cancels, pauses, or has a payment fail before completing three donations, they drop off and don’t count toward your reward.

How and when do we get paid?

Once your window closes, your new donors work through their three donation cycles, and the Admin Portal shows how many are still on track. When the last of them completes their third donation, we calculate your reward and contact you to get payment information. Start to finish, that’s usually about four to five months after your window opens. You earn $250 for every 10 donors who qualify, so if 52 of your donors complete their three donations, your reward payment is $1,250.
