(“RU,” “we” or “us” or “our”), understands your concerns about privacy and how your information is used and safeguarded, and we want to provide you with more information on these topics. This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes the practices and policies related to the website located at roundup.org, and any applications, widgets, browser extensions, and other software applications, (collectively, the “Platform”), including the types of personal information we collect on the Platform, how we may use that information, and with whom we share it. Please note that this Privacy Policy applies only to our online information-gathering and dissemination practices, and does not apply to any of our practices conducted offline. By visiting the Platform, you are accepting the practices and policies described below, and you are further indicating that you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not visit or use the Platform. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Personal Information You Provide and How It Is Used

When you visit our Platform, you may provide us with personally identifying information (such as name, e-mail address). All such personally identifying information that we collect is information that you voluntarily provide to us, as more particularly described below. Please do not send sensitive, personal or confidential information to us directly through the Platform, or by email to any of the contact email addresses listed on the Platform.

Examples of instances in which we may collect personal information include:

Registration: When you sign up to use RU, you supply your name and email address. We use this to credit any donations to your account so you can view them, as well as to share your information with your selected charity, should you give us permission to do so.

Contact Us: If you contact us through any of the email addresses that we provide – or any contact forms – we will collect your email address, and any other information that you provide to us. We will use the information you provide to contact you back and to respond to your inquiries.

Careers: We may list current job opportunities. If you opt to apply, we may ask that you provide us with certain personal information, including your name, email address and resume.

Email Updates: We may mail you with updates and news about our Platform, and/or your selected charity, and/or opportunities to generate donations to your favorite charity.

Information We Collect by Automated Means

We - and certain third parties who include, but not limited to, service providers, advertisers, advertising networks and platforms, and third-party partners - may use automated means to collect information about you, your computer, or other device. Some of this information does not identify you directly; other information — such as the cookies and advertising identifiers used for the advertising described in “Cookies” and “Advertising audiences” — may be associated with you personally. Much of this information is collected through the use of third-party tracking services, which includes Google Analytics and/or similar products. The information collected may include usage information, such as the numbers and frequency of users to the Platform, pages visited, web browsing histories, online activities and searches, social networking activities and similar data. When gathered, this data, if used, is used in the aggregate, and not in a manner that is intended to identify you personally. We may share aggregated or de-identified information — which cannot reasonably be used to identify you — with our service providers to operate, secure, and improve the Platform, and with advertising platforms to measure our ads. We do not sell this information. In addition to the third-party tracking services mentioned above, we may also collect non-personal information through various other means, including "cookies”, web beacons and IP addresses, as further explained below.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of information that a web server may place on your computer when you visit a website. Cookies are commonly used by websites to improve the user experience. Many cookies last only through a single website session, or visit. Others may have an expiration date, or may remain on your computer until you delete them. RU may use “session cookies” so that we can properly verify a user’s identity as they move from one page to the next. We may also use cookies for other purposes, such as to identify and authenticate visitors, to maintain continuity during a user session, or to gather data about the usage of our website for research and other purposes.

We use advertising technologies — including the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads tag/pixel — on our Platform. These tools place cookies and similar identifiers in your browser and allow us and these advertising platforms to recognize your device, measure the performance of our ads, and show you and similar audiences RoundUp.org ads on Meta, Google (including Google Search and the Google Display Network and YouTube), and other sites and apps. This is a form of cross-context behavioral advertising (sometimes called “retargeting” or “remarketing”).

Most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to be notified when you receive a new cookie, and how to disable existing cookies. Please note, however, that without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of all the features on our Platform. Some cookies and advertising identifiers we use may be associated with you personally. You can opt out of this advertising as described in “Your Advertising Choices” below. In some cases, RU may also use another company to operate web servers for our Platform. RU uses the cookie information gathered by these companies in the same manner as stated in this Privacy Policy.

Web Beacons

We may also use “web beacons” (also known as Internet tags, pixel tags and clear GIFs). These web beacons allow third parties to obtain information such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the beacon appears, the URL of the page on which the beacon appears, the time the page containing the beacon was viewed, the type of browser used to view the page, and the information in cookies set by the third party. Web beacons also may be used to track whether you have opened an HTML email. When the email is opened, a part of the code that makes up the HTML page calls a web server to load the web beacon that then generates a record showing that the email has been viewed. Web beacons may also recognize when the email was opened, how many times it was forwarded and which URLs (links within the email) were clicked.

Log files, IP Addresses, Java Script, Analytics and other Tracking Information

When you visit and interact with the Platform, RU and third parties with whom we have contracted to provide services for us, may collect Internet Protocol addresses (each an “IP Address”), as well as browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and page navigation. An IP Address is a unique identifier number that certain electronic devices use to identify and to communicate with each other on the Internet; your Internet Service Provider automatically assigns an IP Address to the computer that you are using. We gather this information to track web site visitor movement in the aggregate, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

Additionally, advertisers may receive the URL of the page you were on when you click on an ad on the Website. Except as described in the “Cookies” and “Advertising audiences” sections (where we share advertising identifiers with Google and Meta for targeted advertising, subject to your opt-out), we do not share the link between your IP address and your personally identifiable information with third parties without your permission. Our goal in gathering this information is to learn how our customers and the public are using our Platform. We may use this information to enhance our Platform or for other lawful purposes.

Transaction Data

When you enroll in the Platform with an eligible card (i.e. Visa, Mastercard) you will be asked to provide consent, to have transactions on that enrolled card monitored by the respective card network, and for that card network to share certain details of the monitored transactions with Olive Group Ltd (the “Program Vendor”). The Program Vendor will use your Transaction Data to calculate Program-Use Data as required to provide you with the benefits of the platform. Each party will access this Program-Use Data based on your monitored transactions. That Transaction Data may include the date, time, amount, merchant category, and merchant name. You may revoke your consent and opt out of transaction monitoring on your enrolled cards at any time by going to your settings and disabling or removing the card from the Program.

When your card is enrolled with the network, it is done so securely and directly with the Payment Network. A unique identifier, a token, representing your enrolled card may be used by us and the Program Vendor. Once enrolled, no one other than the corresponding Payment Network, will at any time see your credit card number or related details. After enrollment, your Transaction Data and the unique identifier will be shared between us, the Program Vendor, and the card network associated with your enrolled card. No additional Personal Information is shared with these third parties about your account.

Other Means

We may work with third-party companies that use techniques other than HTTP cookies to recognize your computer or device and/or to collect and record information about your web surfing activity, including those integrated with our services. Please keep in mind that your web browser may not permit you to block the use of these techniques, and those browser settings that block conventional cookies may have no effect on such techniques.

Do Not Track Notice

Some web browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” feature that signals to websites that you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. How browsers communicate and respond to the Do Not Track signal is not yet uniform. For this reason, like many websites, the Platform does not currently respond to or alter its practices when it receives a Do Not Track signal. Please note that third parties may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you visit our Platform or other online websites and services. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

How we use your Transaction Data

When you participate in our Program by enrolling an eligible credit card (i.e. Visa, Mastercard), you will be required to provide consent to have transactions on your enrolled card monitored by the card network. That card network will share with us, and with the Program Vendor, the Transaction Data. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in our Program Terms and our Privacy Policy, we and the Program Vendor will use your Transaction Data solely to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we never exchange it for money or other valuable consideration. We do share limited information with advertising platforms such as Google and Meta to show you our ads, as described in “Cookies” above and “Advertising audiences” below; some state laws call this “sharing” for targeted advertising, and you can opt out at any time (see “Your Advertising Choices”). Apart from that advertising sharing and the service providers described in this Policy, we do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own independent use.

Advertising audiences (customer lists). We may share limited contact information you provide to us — such as your email address — with advertising platforms including Google (via Customer Match) and Meta (via Custom Audiences) so that we can show RoundUp.org ads to you and to audiences similar to you, and measure those ads. Where these platforms support it, the information is provided in hashed (pseudonymized) form. We only use information collected directly from you in a first-party context for this purpose. These platforms are contractually required to use the data to run our campaigns and to comply with applicable law and their own policies. This use is considered “sharing” of personal information and/or “targeted advertising” under certain state privacy laws, and you may opt out at any time as described in “Your Advertising Choices” below.

When you participate in the Program your Transaction Data and a token representing your enrolled card will be shared between us, the Program Vendor, and the card network associated with your enrolled card (i.e. Visa, Mastercard). No additional Personal Information is shared with these third parties about your account with us without your consent.

We may disclose all of the information (described herein) that we collect, as stated in this Privacy Policy including in accordance with the terms set forth in this section. RU works with a variety of third-party partners in order to allow us to make the Platform available to you, to host and store the information we collect from you, to collect and process your donations, and to provide certain functionality and features. In regard to the nonprofit(s) you designate to receive your donations, we will share your name and email address with such organizations if you give us permission to do so when you select the nonprofit; you will always be provided with the opportunity to opt out from this sharing. Except as stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not reveal personally identifiable information about you to third parties for their independent use unless: (1) you expressly authorize RU to do so, (2) it is necessary to allow RU and its service providers or agents to provide services on RU’s behalf, (3) it is to provide products or services to you, (4) it is disclosed to advertising and marketing platforms and service providers (such as Google and Meta) that help us promote RoundUp.org, including through the ad-targeting and measurement activities described in the “Cookies” and “Advertising audiences” sections above, subject to your right to opt out, (5) it is necessary in connection with a sale of all or substantially all of the assets of RU or the merger of RU into another entity or any consolidation, share exchange, combination, reorganization, or like transaction in which RU is not the survivor, (6) RU is required or permitted to do so for any or all of the following reasons: (i) to comply with a subpoena, legal process, government request or any other legal obligation, (ii) to prevent, investigate, detect, or prosecute criminal offenses or attacks on the technical integrity of the Platform or our network, and/or (iii) to protect the rights, privacy, property, business, or safety of RU, its partners and employees or the visitors to the Platform, or (7) or any other purpose that you may authorize or direct at the time we collect your information.

YOUR ADVERTISING CHOICES

You can opt out of our use of your information for targeted advertising / “sharing” at any time by: (1) emailing support@roundup.org; and (2) controlling ad personalization directly in your Google and Meta account settings. When you opt out, we will stop sharing your information for these purposes and will remove you from our Google and Meta advertising audiences.

HOW WE ATTEMPT TO SAFEGUARD YOUR INFORMATION

We maintain – and ask that any third-party partners who may store information on our behalf to maintain – administrative, technical and physical safeguards for the Platform designed to protect your personal information against theft, loss, misuse or unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of the personal information that we collect from you. However, no website, application or transmission can guarantee security. Thus, while we have established and maintained what we believe to be reasonable procedures to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of personally identifying information obtained through the Platform and we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personally identifiable information about visitors younger than 16 years of age. If you are under the age of 16, you are expressly prohibited from accessing/viewing the Platform. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 16 years of age and believe that they have disclosed personally identifiable information to us, please contact us.

We do not knowingly include users we know to be under 18 in our advertising audiences, and we do not knowingly target them with cross-context behavioral advertising. Where we become aware that a user is under 18, we exclude their information from the advertising sharing described in this Policy.

THIRD PARTY WEBSITES; ADVERTISEMENTS

We may also provide links to a variety of third-party social media sites and/or websites – such as YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and others - as a service to you, and in order to provide you additional information and/or content related to the work that we do, or additional venues in which you can learn about and discuss the activities of RU. We may also allow third parties to place advertisements on the Platform. Please note that we have no affiliation with any of these other parties and/or websites, and cannot control and are not responsible for the information collection, use, and disclosure practices of such third parties; we encourage you to review and understand their privacy practices and policies, if any, before using providing any personally identifying information to them or initiating any financial transactions. We are not responsible for the content or information of these websites, or any other use of the linked website.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy at any time by updating this posting. Please check back regularly and to see if there have been any changes to this policy, which you can determine by reviewing the Effective Date listed above. By continuing to use the Platform after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
